Ferro-alloy is an alloy of iron with a high
proportion of elements such as manganese,
silicon, chromium, and molybdenum.
Ferro-alloys are used in the manufacture of
alloy steels. Each alloy is generally named
after the added metal, eg. ferrochromium.
